The new revolutionary PAW (pay as you walk) system is coming soon. And it is arriving as early as 2020.
MINDEF has announced their intentions to introduce the Pay As You walk system, charging NSFs $0.50 for every 500 steps they take in camp, in an attempt to bolster Singapore's economy after God Emperor Donald Trump had legislated the Global Trump Tax last week in the ongoing trade war with China, which resulted in an increase in the price of every good in Asia by 3000%.
PAW will be measured with a special device called onboard units (OBUs), a microchip which is implanted in every NSF's hand during their CMPB pre-enlistment medical checkup.

When asked to comment about this new policy, 3WO Goh stated "101 percent agree with MINDEF, lowlife scumbag NSFs should pay for the air they breathe in the camp also. Aiya I also not NSF no affect me one, fuck you understand ." as he proceeded to shout at the platoon he had just knocked down.
PTE Chi commented "Fuck my life there goes my pathetic $560 pay. Considering that I clock an average of 30000 steps per day in camp, I will have to pay $30 per day. Per month, have to spend 22 days in camp, I will have to pay the fucking gahment $100 per month. Gahment take me freedom, take my girlfriend now also take my money aiya might as well as just take my liver and kidneys lah."

Chi's opinion resonates with that of many NSFs. They claimed that it is "unfair that they have to pay for their footprints" since they are "serving the nation". It has also been rumored that some recruits had grouped up and organised a protest when PAW was announced, although it was quickly stifled when the encik threatened them with confinement.
There have been qualms by concerned enciks that this policy may actually backfire since filthy NSFs are going to frequent polyclinics more often to obtain MCs in order to stay out of camp, avoiding getting charged for their footprints.
However, this prevailing issue known as chaokeng might be resolved soon with the MC tax that the Ministry of Health is going to implement in 2020.
